Nightclubs in Panama City

Panama City has a unique nightlife scene in that it's a composite of different scenes that don't fit perfectly together. It's a mix of underground and fancy upscale, modern and old, laid back and pretentious. This creates a lot of options.

The financial district is where you will find the swankier nightclubs and the best dressed party-goers, whereas Casco Viejo is more gritty and casual and filled with backpackers and travelers alike.

Many places have free cover. If they do charge a cover, it is usually between $2-$5 USD depending on the type of venue.

People who live in Panama dress up when they go out, as they are getting a break from the work grind culture of such an international hub city. If you want to get into clubs, do not show up wearing shorts, flip flops, loose clothing or a baseball cap.
