Private Schools

Until 2005, Norwegian law held private secondary schools illegal unless they offered a "religious or pedagogic alternative". The only private schools were religious (Christian), Steiner/Waldorf, and Danielsen. There are now a few more private school options, including Montessori, Nyskolen and Steiner.

For more information on private schools, consult the section on "International Schools".
