Mexico does not have any reciprocal health care agreements
with any other country in the world so visitors must ensure that their
medical insurance will pay for any medical requirements they have in Mexico.
Not all policies cover health insurance in Mexico, visitors need to check with
their insurance company. European plans do not usually offer coverage in Mexico.
Some US and Canadian health plans provide (usually limited) health coverage
in Mexico, but not all.
Travel insurance is a good answer to this that ensures the safety and worry-free
nature of your trip. Without appropriate travel insurance, you may be exposed
to significant financial liability. Visitors must buy travel insurance in your
country of residence. It can be purchased at airports and convenience stores,
but at a higher premium than if you buy ahead of time, online.
