Luxembourg is a cultural capitol, not restricted by the country's small size. The city has twice been chosen as the European Capital of Culture. Internationally known artists like painters Theo Kerg, Joseph Kutter and Michel Majerus, as well as the photographer Edward Steichen all hail from Luxembourg. Aside from these notable credentials, the old town has also been declared a UNESCO world heritage site.

Theater

Theater National du Luxembourg is composed of several small private theaters and two city theaters. The site offers information on the various theaters, multilingual programs, schedules, as well as information about opera and symphony performances.

Theater des Capucins (tickets are 8-25 euro)and Grand Theater de la Ville de Luxembourg (tickets are 8-35 euro) are two of the most prestigious theaters.

Opera

Luxembourg is alive with music. Along with the many festivals, there is the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra (German: Letzebuerger philharmoneschen Orchester, French: Orchestre philharmonique du Luxembourg).

The Music Conservatory (French: Conservatoire de Musique) is another excellent venue.

The opera schedule can be found at Luxembourg's Theater site.
