Cinema

Luxembourg has played the demure role of filming location for many notable movies throughout the decades. The 1997 "American Werewolf in Paris", "Shadow of the Vampire", and "The girl with the pearl earrings" were all filmed in Luxembourg's Deluxe Studios in Contern and Esch-sur-Alzette.

The Film Fund seeks to promote the nation's film industry. Information about Luxembourg films and the movie scene can be found on their site.

Nightclubs

Luxembourg hasn't always been known as a nightlife hub, but the scene is growing. The "Grund" area of town is a hotspot for clubs within the city. The suburb of Hollerich near the railway station is also developing into a great spot for nightlife.

Urban Bar
Modern cream and chocolate deco with delicious cocktails and bar food, this bar attracts the international crowd. Though packed on the weekends, the place is generally relaxed. In summer, there is an open air terrace.

Byblos
Dance club with areas to chill. There is a pool table in the basement, and music that ranges from disco to funk. Entrance charge is usually 10 euros, but gets you 10 euro credits for drinks.

Muko Muko
One of the hippest places in town...at the moment. Music of every style in two rooms.

Melusina
Music alternates between rock and jazz groups. House music plays in the separate Ultra Lounge. It's open on Friday and Saturday from 11pm to 3am. Cover is 8 euro. There's also a restaurant, open Monday to Saturday.

Pulp Club
For disco, dance, house, hip-hop, R&B, and salsa this is a great place. Different music plays in a variety of rooms. It's open Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 11pm to 3am. Cover starts at 5 euro.

Marx Bar
Disco bar that opens a small garden in summer.

V.I.P. Room
A chain of glam clubs throughout France and Luxembourg, this space is sleek and contemporary.

The Secret Garden
Composed of three buildings, the club is luxurious. There's a narrow bar area, lounging areas, and a spacious dance floor.

If you are still in search of the place for a perfect night out, you can try Explorator, Yellow Pages, or ask hotel doormen and bartenders. The Tourist Office also offers a publication, "La Semaine a Luxembourg" (The Week in Luxembourg) or the "352 Luxembourg News", an English-language newspaper published every Friday.
