French and Spanish are standard electives in the academic program menu of secondary level schools through to colleges and university.

Certification is available at CSEC and higher. There are specialist language schools. The Language Training Centre Ltd is one of them and was a government agency until 1992. LTC and other schools offer training in a range of foreign languages, English to foreign language speakers, and provides translation and interpreting services.
