Movie release in Jamaica's top cinema houses is on roughly the same schedule as the US for the really big movies from Disney, Sony and other major world publishers. The roll outs in the US are also concurrent with movie promotions in Jamaica. The integration in release schedules and promotions creates the atmosphere of trendiness in the movie scene here in Jamaica and a sense of attachment to world culture.
There are 4 cinema houses in Jamaica, each of which may have two or more screens or cinemas with between 180 and 400 seats. Because you can buy tickets online and in advance and there are multiple show times of a title for the day, there is less risk to miss out because of sell-outs. Early birds as usual get choice for the best regular seats. The locations are convenient - Kingston, St James and St Ann.
The show times vary between weekdays and weekends, and by season. There would be early evening times during weekend but not necessarily on weekdays. The exception might be during the summer and winter breaks when school is out: show times can start from mid-afternoon on select weekdays (usually Wednesday) and on weekends. Lookout for days when there are deals for moviegoers, such as two-for-one tickets.
Regular price ranges from JMD$1050 to $1350 for adults. The higher price is for 3D screenings.
