All Israeli residents much sign up for one of the four national health insurance policies:

As a subscriber to the national insurance system should you become ill you will normally receive sickness benefit to the extent of 75% of your salary for up to ninety days. A grant will be paid for hospitalisation expenses. Hospital transportation costs will also be covered, and if you need to take time off work to care for a sick child a special benefit is available.

Patients pay a fixed contribution for medication and appliances, which varies according to your policy. Note that as a non-resident you will need to be covered by private medical insurance.
