The Irish Post is known as An Post which translates to "The Post". It is the State-owned provider of postal services in Ireland.

Ireland's post delivers at least one collection and one delivery five working days a week from Monday to Friday). It delivers postal packets weighing up to 2kgs and parcels weighing up to 20 kg.

Urban addresses are specified by county, city or town name, street name, house number or name, and apartment or flat number where relevant. Dublin has "D" as a prefix.

Rural addresses are specified by the county, nearest post town, and the townland
