 Practical Life

Shopping

Prague is a shopping paradise, both for the usually favourable exchange rate as well as the quantity and quality of shops.

Small shops are open between 8:00-19:00. Shopping centres and department stores usually stay open until 20:00 or later. All stores should be open Monday to Saturday. Larger shops and shopping centres may be open on Sundays.

Prague is known for it's crystal, garnet goods, and hand crafted wooden toys. It is also the site for many tacky souvenirs such as "Czech Me Out" T-shirts and merchandise. Most of the streets around Old Town offer these goods at high prices. Getting out of the main tourist sites you will see the same goods for half the price.
