Expat Benefits Packages for Colombia
Though this is rare for Colombia, some benefits are applicable especially for expats in order to ease transition to a new country and convince the employee to move abroad. The most common is an increase in salary.
Other benefits may include:
- Relocation benefits for the move. These may be either financial (a lump sum or reimbursement of costs) or in the form of assistance or the help of a relocation agent.
- Accommodation benefits. Provisional accommodation during the first month or assistance from a real estate agent to find housing.
- Expatriate family benefits. These are necessary as your spouse may not necessarily have the right to work or find suitable work. They include tuition payments for children, compensation for loss of potential spouse income, assistance with visa.
- Language training for the employee and his or her family, in order to integrate.
