Toronto has a huge international population, and there are plenty of international schools to accommodate. Although English is the prominent language in Toronto public schools, expat parents may still want to send their child to an international school to keep up with the curriculum from their home country's school or simply keep up with their international school education. International Baccalaureate (IB)

The IB program is offered by a number of private schools. It is taught under the supervision of the International Baccalaureate Organisation. All students study languages, social science, experimental science, mathematics and arts.
The IB is divided into three programmes covering the following age ranges:

  • Primary Years Programme (PYP) ages 3-12
  • Middle Years Programme (MYP) ages 11-16
  • Diploma Programme (DP) ages 16-18
