Nightclubs

Montréal has a distinctly European flair and this continues into its nightlife scene. Dance clubs can be found in the downtown area, especially on boulevard Saint-Laurent and rue Crescent. • Time Supper Club (997 rue St Jacques) - The first Supper Club in the city, Time Supper Club starts as a restaurant and slowly turns into a night club.
• Le Rouge Bar (Rue Prince Arthur Ouest) - Open Fridays, Saturdays and for special events. The club offers Bottle service and dancing.
• Saphir (3699 Boulevard Saint-Laurent) - Goth and punk nights on two floors.
• La Boom (1254 rue Stanley) - One of the trendiest club in Montréal. Be well-dressed and ready to pay.
• Cafe Campus (57 rue Prince-Arthur) - Best known for its Tuesday night $7 pitchers and retro dance scene.
• Club Tokyo (3709 St-Laurent) - Cool, well-heeled clientele come to enjoy the various rooms with comfortable couches and an outdoor terrace. Plays a mix of club music/retro/hip hop.
• Altitude 737 (1 boulevard Rene-Lévesque) - Expensive lounge club and restaurant located in the penthouse of Place Ville-Marie. These skyscraper views provide a rotating beacon whose lights are viewable 50 km around. Also has a large rooftop terrace.
• Muzique (3781 Boulevard Saint-Laurent) - Montréal's new high-end destination has 2 rooms and a rooftop patio overlooking Mount Royal.
• Sir Winston Churchill Pub Complexe (1459 Crescent Street) - Great place to dance with 3 separate areas.
• Electric Ave (1469 Crescent Street) - A popular spot for dancing to the 80s.
• Ste-Elizabeth (corner of rue Ste-Elisabeth & rue Ste-Catherine) - A European style pub, it is a local favorite, especially for university students.
• Velvet (426 Rue Saint Gabriel) - A speak easy with great electronic music at night. Club U.N. (390 Notre-Dame Ouest) - Consistently busy, this club offers electronic.
• Le Piano Rouge (22 Rue Saint Paul Est) - A piano bar that has live music, friendly staff, and delicious signature martinis.

Gay Nightlife in Montréal

Montréal holds an out and proud gay community. The whole city is pretty gay friendly, with many places catering to an almost exclusively gay clientele. Montréal's Gay Village (The Village, Le Village gai or simply Le Village) is located on Saint Catherine Street East with many fine - and not so fine - establishments.

• Unity (1171 Saint Catherine Street) - Dancing and drag queens and a rooftop terrace.
• Cabaret Mado (1115 Saint Catherine Street) - A great place to have a few drinks before a night out.
• Sky (1474 Saint Catherine Street) - This nightclub offers performances including drag. A lovely rooftop terrace can also be enjoyed.
• Stripper Bars - The major male stripper bars in Montréal are Stock, Campus, Taboo, Adonis, Oasis

Karaoke

• Pang Pang Karaoke Bar (1226 rue Mackay) - Comfy rooms in a range of sizes can be hired by the hour.
• K-Karaoke (2110 Rue Crescent) - Large rooms with a great system.
• Club Date (1218 Rue Ste-Catherine Es) - This gay karaoke bar has an entertaining host and a great scene.
• K-100 (1231 rue Sainte-Catherine O) - Has many rooms and a happy hour rate.

After-hours Clubs

After-hours clubs allow for revelers to continue the party until 10:00. However, by law these places can no longer serve alcohol after 3:00.

• Stereo (858 rue Sainte-Catherine est) - Plays house music and occasionally trance/techno. Is known to feature some of the top DJs from around the world and is reputed to have one of the best sound systems in North America. The crowd is mostly gay/lesbian depending on the night, the age ranges between 20-35, and is often at full capacity.
• Circus (915 rue Sainte-Catherine) - Electronic and hip-hop. The most recent and most luxuriously decorated after-hour in Montréal. Young crowd (18-25) with great space.

Tips to gain entry
• Don't try to enter as a large group. Break up into smaller groups if there are 5+
• Know the style of the club you are going to and dress for it. Being "too dressed up" might also be undesirable.
• Men have more trouble getting in so try to balance your group with more women than men.
