Movies are a popular form of entertainment in Vienna. There are a number of cinemas in Vienna showing films in English or in their original language. To find the right version look out for the following abbreviations in the cinema programme: OV (original version), OmU (original version with subtitles) and OmeU (original version with English subtitles).
In the summer you can enjoy open-air screens. Vienna’s biggest annual open air film festival is held in front of the City Hall (Rathausplatz). This is a good place to watch films on classical music.
