There are different visa rules and requirements for people of different nationalities. So please check with the embassy for the latest information. In general, citizens of European Member; Countries (EEA, EFTA) can live and work in Austria without a visa or a work permit. Nationals of certain countries can visit Austria for up to three months without a visa but will need to be granted a work permit to take up employment. The work permit for foreign nationals

If you are from a country that is not a full member of EFTA or EEA, you must obtain a work permit or visa to work in Austria. Nationals of certain countries can visit Austria for up to three months without a visa but will need to be granted a work permit to take up employment. These must be applied for by the employer and obtained before arriving in the country.
