Internet

The internet in Australia is generally expensive, and the wireless is not still very wide-spread in public places. It's approximately $2 per hour in cybercafés. However there are places where you can connect free to the Internet (for example some libraries).

There are many providers and you will find all the necessary information on their web sites:

TV

There are 5 free channels on the Australian television: ABC-SBS-Seven-Ten-Nine. The advertising on TV is extremely frequent (approximately 5 minutes of commercials in every 10 minutes of program). And if you would like to watch international programs you have to go on SBS! To subscribe to the other paying channels you can contact the most famous provider: Foxtel.
