Phone Installation in Andorra

In Andorra, there is a single telephone operator, the STA (Serveis de Telecomunicacions d'Andorra) and none of the usual providers in Spain and France operate (Movistar, Orange, Airtel, Ono ...). This may cause some incidence with your phone once you cross the Andorran border.

To have a telephone installed or reconnected, you must usually visit your closest STA office. Take along your passport or residence evidence, proof of your address such as a recent electricity bill, a copy of your IBAN number (bank account where to charge your monthly bills) and the NRT number (it is the same as the CASS number preceded by an "F").

The majority of buildings already have the necessary infrastructure for a phone line in place. Therefore all you have to do is arrange a date for installation. In case there are problems with the infrastructure, the provider will offer to assist you further by offering suitable alternative solutions.

Itemized bills (factura detallada) are provided monthly with the date and time, duration, number of units and the charge. Bills can be paid in cash at certain Banks or via a bank account. You can also have your telephone bills paid by direct debit (transferència) from a bank account, which is advisable for holiday-home owners as it ensures that you aren't disconnected for non-payment.

Telephone Directories

Telephone directories (Guies Telefóniques) in Andorra are also published by STA (Serveis de Telecomunicacions d'Andorra).
They are available online and printed. All-andorra.com (https://all-andorra.com/yellow-pages/) also publishes its own annual "yellow pages".

Public Phones in Andorra

Payphones are almost inexistent in Andorra. Only 60 of them are still in use and 80 have been removed.

Major phone companies have been progressively withdrawing them due to the high level of penetration of mobile phones in the country. However, the country is renewing the 60 public payphones left in order to offer a public and "emergency use" (if needed) to its citizens.

Prepaid Cards

Prepaid cards are also available with STA (Serveis de Telecomunicacions d'Andorra). With a prepaid car you will be able to make calls, send SMS messages and browse the Internet without any monthly fees or invoices and decide how much you want to spend.

Check all the information and benefit in STA webpage.
