There are various types of pension available. The most common is the pension scheme. With it, you will get an occupational pension and a personal pension arrangement. This mean that you will need to deal directly with the pension provider to find out exactly what benefits you can get.

    Example of Pension Provider :

The Pensions Board is the regulatory body for occupational pensions: http://www.pensionsboard.ie

If you made sufficient PRSI contributions during your working life and you retire at 65 you may be entitled to the State Pension. The rates are about €223.30 weekly in 2008.
