If the apartment rental does not include utilities in the monthly rent, utilities will be assessed separately. Utilities are typically provided for an entire building, rather than for individual apartments. In these cases, the bowab (doorman) of the apartment building helps new tenants get in contact with the appropriate offices to obtain water, electricity, and sewage service.
