In the Brussels-Capital Region, 4 companies of cable-TV are available (but conditions and channels may vary depending on the area). They provide also Internet with the cable and sometime the telephone.

    Satellite TV

Some towns tried to tax the satellite dishes, but this has be declared illegal by the European commission! The two companies of satellite TV are French:

    Internet

In addition to the Internet access with cable (provided by 4 companies cited above: UPC and Coditel using the LanCity cable, and Wolu-TV and Brutélé using Terayon), it is possible to use ADSL with 3 providers:

    • Versatel (limited download volumes - 1Mbps for 29,90 € - prices 2005)
    • La Tribu (1Mbps for 29,90 € or 3Mbps for 39,90 € - prices2005)
    • Talessa (3Mbps for 45 € - prices 2005)

Wi-Fi are installed in public areas (such as Brussels national airport) and antennas are installed in the region. Clearwire is trying an independent system in Brussels, based on the WiMAX standard (7 times more powerful, it can reach up to 45 km while Wi-Fi can only be used by computer within a 10-20 meter range).
