The British School of Amsterdam: an independent co-educational day school that offers a British-style education to children of all nationalities between the ages of 2 and 12 years. The school was founded in 1978 by members of the British community in Amsterdam. The teaching programme is based on the National Curriculum (England and Wales). Europese School: The European Schools are official educational institutions controlled jointly by the governments of all member states of the European Union. National education departments are responsible for appointing full-time staff. Inspectors from the national education departments decide the curriculum and visit the schools regularly.
