    Thanks to the growing number of international jobs based out of the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular, there are quite a number of reputed international schools spread across the country. The main recognised international schools in Amsterdam are:

    The British School of Amsterdam: an independent co-educational day school that offers a British-style education to children of all nationalities between the ages of 2 and 12 years. The school was founded in 1978 by members of the British community in Amsterdam. The teaching programme is based on the National Curriculum (England and Wales). Music and drama, arts and craftwork and physical education form an important part of the curriculum in addition to the more formal academic subjects. Contact information below.

    Amsterdam International Community School: The AICS offers primary, middle school and diploma programmes and meets international baccalaureate standards. Contact information below.

    International School of Amsterdam: ISA provides education for students from 3 to 18 years of age (from Pre-School through Grade 12) and is based upon a full International Baccalaureate Programme. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the European Council of International Schools.     Europese School: The European Schools are official educational institutions controlled jointly by the governments of all member states of the European Union. National education departments are responsible for appointing full-time staff. Inspectors from the national education departments decide the curriculum and visit the schools regularly. The European Schools have been established for children of personnel of EU institutions, but other pupils are admitted if there are free places. Contact information below.
